Update: Feb 2024. As stated below, I would update this review. So these light have now gone through 2 winters & a summer. They are still holding strong so the concern with the holder wires was unfounded. Star level increased from 4 to 5 stars!I haven’t installed all of these yet, but the ones I have really look good. I do like the different color settings. I do Not have these hooked up to a dimmer so I can’t speak to that aspect.I am using these to replace some can lights that are currently existing in our kitchen. It is more if an installation procedure than if starting out fresh, but these are working. The reason for 4 stars, the springs on the light holders seem a bit weak to me. The lights aren’t falling down or anything bad like that, but I am wondering if they will loosen up even more after the summer heat they will be exposed to. If they survive the summer and not loosen up. I will change review to reflect that.

I needed a light that would fit it a 2×4 ceiling (greenhouse.) I bought these at six bucks each and the price jumped 50% the next day.I’ve installed many canister down lights and this is the answer. LED = low power, low heat, low weight, high performance. These would be perfect to add lights in a suspended ceiling.Mine are on a dimmer and work with no flicker.I’ve added these lights to a 20 amp 12/2 wire run, The included wire nuts did not work for this wire size. There would be no problem putting 12 of this lights on a 14/2 15 amp circuit and in this case the wire nuts would be fine.I did not see a provision for mounting the junction box to a framing member (other than a 1/8″ hole in the box wall.) I don’t think this is a problem. My junction boxes are hanging free on the wire run which allows more freedom in positioning the light in the 6.25″ hole cut out for the light.

Out of 24 installed, one failed to the point of melting. Before purchasing I read reviews about the dimmable portion did not work or the unit did not work; however, it getting so hot to melt both front lens and the back is a fire hazard.

After installing 2 of these lights in my ceiling , I left the lights on for about 25 minutes, when I noticed one of the lights had shifted. Upon closer inspection I found that the light had gotten very hot and melted the thin plastic housing o. The middle light setting.. They were attached to a standard 110v switch. Very easy to install. Great price, get what you pay for! Beware!

I do really enjoy these lights, I really appreciate the fact that you can change the temperature of the lights, which for me was very important to have that control. They are super lightweight and very easy to install! And the price is right of course!

These lights are great! They work well and are very bright! We did encounter some lights that didn’t work but I contacted the company and they were very reasonable and sent me replacements! I would definitely order from them again!

First time ever installing. Went without a hitch. Lots of options for brightness and color temp. Installed with a dimmer switch and works well with no flicker. Fits tight to the ceiling with no gap. Clips are super strong and hold them in place nicely. Very satisfied.

I don’t have an issue with the actual LED lights themselves. I’ve installed a few so far and the light is bright and color accurate when compared against known good bulbs of the same color temp. The lights also all come with a gasket around them so they should be suitable for damp locations and keeping down air transfer to/from an unconditioned space. They have a nice wide light dispersion so I’m happy with that part of the product. I’ve had a few installed for a few months now and haven’t had any issues with their operation.Where I think this particular light falls down compared to other similar lights I’ve used is the electrical box that comes with it. The box itself is smaller than others I’ve used in the past. It’s 2 7/8″ wide x 2 7/8″ deep x 1 5/8″ high. That’s good if you’re fitting it in a really tight space. However, it doesn’t leave a whole lot of room to work with inside when you’re wiring it up. The usable space inside the box is 2 7/8″ wide x 1 9/16″ deep x 1 5/8″ high. Even with running just one 14/2 wire into the box it gets crowded. I’m not looking forward to the next project where I’m setting up 4 of these in series so I’ll have to come in with one and go out with another. By the time you get all that wire plus wire nuts or Wago (or other push connectors) in there it’s pretty tight. A bit of a squeeze in a small box may not be a big deal, except the latching of the lid is pretty weak. It doesn’t take much force at all to pop it open from the inside so if you don’t have everything pressed down well where it won’t stick up much then the top won’t stay closed. The box itself is very thin metal folded over on itself. There is nothing holding the corners together. No tack weld, rivet, screw, glue, or tape. Even an old piece of gum would’ve been an improvement. Again, once the small area inside gets filled, the box can easily push out from itself assuming the top doesn’t pop open first. Be careful as the edges of the box could be a cutting hazard… all the edges. The holes in the side accept a 3/8″ wire clamp or push in connector. The wires in the box are tinned which is helpful if using push-in wire/Wago connectors. Also, there is no UL label anywhere on the product if that’s a deal breaker for some. The LED light itself does say it’s rated IC, but the box does not list that too. The pad seen on the back by the CCT switch is just a pad, it is not an adhesive strip. The only possible screw down point is a single hole in the bottom of the box which would only fit a very small screw unless you want to make a new one yourself. If you’re just tossing this into a void between floors that may not matter to you though. So far I’ve only replaced a few boob lights my wife hated with these and ran into issues with the box not wanting to stay closed. I’ll be doing at least 8 more in a couple of rooms to add new lights around ceiling fans that aren’t bright enough for the space, maybe 12 depending on my level of ambition. Once installed, they’re fine. The pain points listed above (some of them literal pain points if you get cut on the box) are only for the initial installation. If you don’t mind what I listed above then these could work well for you. If I had it to do over again, I’d go with something with a little sturdier electrical box that would give slightly more room inside and/or a better latching top.
