I am so impressed with this product. I was so close to buying the $50 one that apple sells but found this one on sale for $16 and was hesitant with such a cheap price but I am pleasantly surprised. First off, I am awful when it comes to home improvement. But, I was able to install this myself and if I can do it, ANYONE can. The instructions were very simple and clear, and personally I only needed a flat head, some needle nose pliers, a pencil, an drill and about 20 minutes and that was me moving very slowly and methodically. Came with stickers so you can label each wire so there’s no confusion and once it was installed, the app worked seamlessly and immediately paired with my apple home. Great quality but be aware that the switch is significantly bigger than your average switch and we had to drill new holes because the screws did not line up with the originally light switch. I can’t say enough great things about this switch. It turned my ceiling fan into a “smart fan” and beyond worth $16

Relatively easy to install. Works with Alexa well. I have it programmed to turn my porch light on at dusk and off at sunrise. So far so good.

Works great with the Apple HomeKit. Took a little time to hook up to the HomeKit but not to bad. Quality of the product seems good and the price was decent.

Install was as expected with any other electrical switch. I even did it with gloves without turning off the electricity and it went fine.I love and use the Kasa app and have 4 plugs I used for fans in the garage and all is good there, but I went through the “Kasa add devide’ install, and the last question was “Do you want to add to your network and add to (apple) Home” ? If you say ‘no’, it halts the install. If I said yes, it added the device to Apple Home, but not to Kasa. I even deleted Apple Home from my iphone – that didn’t help.So I’m now controlling this via apple Home and it auto turns on/off according to sunset/sunrise.It’s functioning perfectly, but it’s unfortunate I can’t use the Kasa App to do so.

I purchased a home where the kitchen has 3 different modes of entry. The genius builders decided that only two points should have switches (3 way switch setup). The entry point from the garage (through laundry room) did not have a switch. I wired one switch to the existing lighting, and removed the 3 way wiring from the other switch. I wired another switch to the other existing location for power only. For the 3rd location, I tapped into the light switch for the laundry room and ran power only as well. Once the switches were in place, I connected them to the KASA app, and set a command that anytime the two powered switches were pressed, they would trigger the switch that’s connected to the lights to switch to the opposite setting. This prevented me from having to crawl through the attic and source the original 3way switch wire, tap that, and run it down the wall into the laundry room and make a direct connection (Florida summers are no fun in the attic). Overall, great solution to the problem. My ONLY qualm is there is a SLIGHT delay when controlling the main switch from the other two. If TP link could add some BT or local feature only, that’d be great! Otherwise if you don’t mind the second or 2 delay (delay feature turned off btw), then it’s a much simpler solution than attic climbing 🙂

Accidently bought the matter compatible tappo first. Returned that and ordered this when I realized the tappo didn’t work with home kit without an apple hub. This one works great. No hub needed.

When it worked it worked as expected. Had zero issues with it until about the 6th (almost 7th) month. Light circle kept flashing one/off red/orange, not a slow flash when you first connect it. Tried to reset it restart it, turn off the circuit breaker with no success. I had an extra one and installed. I don’t expect any issues but it was cheap and I can forgive one but not 2 failing on me. Will update again if I see issues with the 2nd one.Update: 07/20/2024Junk. What is with these things? I Installed a 2nd one 6 months ago and guess what? failed 6 months later. i don’t like giving negative reviews but 2 in 12 months for the same circuit is unacceptable. since it’s well past the purchase date, can’t get a refund. going in the garbage can. will be looking at another brand.Update: 08/27/2024Why hasn’t TP-Link addressed the large failure rate of these switches? They are rated highly for ease of use but one of the reviewer earlier said “4 of 9 switches failed.” That’s a 44% failure rate. My 2 of 2 is a 100% failure rate. The one thing that i did like about them is that they are not as deep as others that i’ve found. But the failure rate just doesn’t justify another purchase.

I’ve used a ton of smart switches over the years and they come in all different kinds of connections. These are by far the easiest to install. Simply locate all 4 of the wires in the wall box and then use the included wire nuts to connect to the wires from the old switch. You can even sometimes take the neutral wire and just add it to the cluster in the wall box. Very easy smart setup after that. 100% reccomend
