Best feature over other saws: Reliability, Power, The LED (seriously even in bright conditions the LED can illuminate the point of cut especially when the saw casts a shadow… and It almost always does)Worst feature: ???? Not sure to be honest I prefer the thinner bed of this over the magnesium for maneuverability and sight. Also the magnesium bed model doesn’t have LEDs. The only con I can really see is that the worm driven version of this saw is only 20$ more, no LED tho.I’d rather have gotten the worm drive version for longevity, But my uncle insisted and I can’t say I’m upset. Maybe in 10 years when it dies on us lmao!If you only need a circular saw for one project, or light duty around the house a few times a year you might want theSKIL 15 Amp 7-1/4 Inch Circular Saw with Single Beam Laser Guide – 5280-01 .If you plan to use a circular saw more than once a month I’d recommend this saw, and not many others. Working with my uncle opened my eyes to the difference a tool can make.Do not get less than 15 Amp. Same principle applies as a dull knife, an under powered saw is unpredictable and dangerous. Always power the saw to full RPM before the cut and always power to Full RPM if you stop and need to restart a cut. With the Power this saw puts out it should give nice clean cuts as long as the blade is sharp.I recommend Diablo blades per Project Farm’s test on Youtube as well as others for this particular saw

i have been a carpenter for 30 years. this is my favorite saw. the worm drive saws will be more durable but this one is a little lighter, good for a less strong arm, and with the electric blade brake- which is absolutely crucial- the saw stops spinning quickly and is pretty safe to use. the aluminum plate on the bottom can be bent out of line by dropping the saw or otherwise banging it up but it can be bent back in line with a little care. you can’t hardly burn up a motor- i never have – but after about 7 years of use i will buy a new saw due to the body of the saw being so banged up.

I use it for work, contractor/woodworker type work. Works well, handles well. Seems a bit heavy, but better a little heavy than more plastic parts. Yes, I’m one of those people.lol I ordered the slide fence but haven’t had a chance to use it yet.

This is a replacement for the 5007NBA – “B” meaning brake. The switch has it built in. I ordered a switch for my older one it’s been 15 days and $30.oo for it.. I bought this and payed the next day 14.oo and it arrived 20 hrs later.. Great saw nice light and blade. No case I’ll use my old one.. It felt a little heavier than my old one but its the same.. I’ve owned 5007NBA for 21 years only changed the switch 2 times.. Built 4 houses and 75 full remodeled apt. with it.. and around the house cord replaced maybe 5 times.. Most comfortable saw for its size and weight. NOTE all aways look at your guard before putting it down. Wood cuts will get stuck in all saws…
