I bought this out of necessity, not because I need, want, or even like smart devices. I live next door to a very large military base. The Military owns the frequency that garage door and automobile remotes operate on. About 4 years ago or so they started using this frequency and when they do, when you live as close as I do, everything that uses a remote stops working. When it first started I thought something was wrong with my opener. I extended the antenna to the outside, no help. I changed the control board, no help. Finally I realized what was happening. Garage door manufactures do next to nothing to get around this issue. They want to sell you a new opener but won’t guarantee it will work. My opener is less than 10 years old. Anyway, the Military use of this frequency is becoming more and more common. When I finally purchased this device, I hadn’t been able to open my garage door for over a month. Of course it started working a day before this arrived. So this is for those times when my regular garage door remotes won’t work so I’ll always be able to get into my garage. The kit comes with pretty much everything you could possibly need to install it. Mounting it to the opener is easy with the double sided tape provided. The hardest part, for me was figuring out how to mount the sensor that determines when the door is open or closed. The good thing is you can have a pretty wide gap between the switch and the magnet. I suggest when you first get this device, you download the app, plug in the device and set it up in the app before doing anything else. Then lay the switch on a flat surface and move the magnet slowly towards it while watching in the app to see when it senses the door is closed. This will give a good sense of how far the magnet can be from the switch which will help you when mounting it to the door. Do is a couple of times to make sure. From here, installation is easy. Just mount the unit to you door opener, connect the 2 wires to it. Plug it in and run the sensor to the door. That’s it. Simple. I wouldn’t think it would take anyone more than 30 minutes to install this including securing all the wiring and making sure the installation is clean. The app is pretty straight forward and has lots of options for setting up smart features which I’m not going to go into. They have plenty of very good videos to help you install and setup the app. The only smart feature I use and that makes sense to me is using GEO fencing to open the garage door when you arrive home. This is a nice feature and works perfectly. I’m sure a lot of you will find a lot of the features useful for you. That’s a bonus, for me, it’s just so I can open my garage door when the Military is jamming the signal. It’s a good product, works as it’s supposed to, easy to install, and a lot of support videos. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

I chose this controller because 1) it’s compatible with Alexa and 2) it utilizes a hard-wired sensor to detect if the garage is open or closed. The installation instructions were very thorough…so much so that they provided links to videos to walk you through the install from start to finish! It was super easy to follow along. You can select different notifications, to include open door notifications. Great concecpt but not so great when we are working outside and want the garage door open. I wasn’t able to adjust when to notify the garage door was left open, so I turned it off. It was a little tricky getting it to work with Alexa only because I already had a device with the name “garage” in it. It was more of an Alexa issue than the product itself. I figured it out and now I can ask if the garage door is open and close it from my room!

We previously had a MyQ smart garage door adapter. It worked well, but for some reason stopped being able to get a wireless signal. So I started looking for a replacement. I settled on this model based on the reviews and the company being in the US. My garage door opener requires the free wireless adapter, which I requested from the company as soon as I placed my Amazon order. Their response time was phenomenal and the adapter arrived the same day as the opener. Installation was easier than I expected and it works great. Every now and again it doesn’t open or close on the first try, but overall it’s very responsive. And I like that we can pair it with Alexa and open or close the garage door by voice.

I’m thoroughly impressed with this wireless garage opener! It’s been a seamless addition to my smart home setup, and integration with Siri has made controlling my garage door effortless. However, I did encounter a minor issue during installation. The magnets for the detector weren’t quite close enough, preventing proper alignment. A quick fix with some hot glue and a small piece of wood solved the problem, ensuring a snug fit.Aside from this minor adjustment, the opener has performed flawlessly. Its wireless design and sleek appearance have streamlined my garage’s look while enhancing functionality. If you’re in the market for a reliable and innovative garage opener, I highly recommend this product. Just be prepared for a possible minor adjustment, and you’ll be enjoying the convenience of smart garage control in no time!
