Only 2 days in, but it’s working as it should for me and 2 others in my household. The app is a homerun but I was disappointed it doesn’t work with Google Home, however it does work with Alexa which I don’t use). The app (for Apple and/or Android) makes it very simple to add a user with several easy options (more on that below)… The app tracks every user’s unique lock/unlock of the door within a log. The app also allows the lock to be set to auto-lock after entering/exiting (or you can disable this feature) which has worked flawlessly these first 2 days.Installation was straightforward as a DIY, however I did have to take a couple extra steps to ensure the deadbolt slid into the door jamb (through the strike plate) without interference/obstruction as it wasn’t doing so originally, which is to be expected for some. I simply used a spade drill bit to deepen the hole and to offset it slightly to align with the deadbolt. This was the toughest part of the install’n but still quite easy overall. I also had to remove the weatherstripping around my front door so that my door would close tighter and without pressure in order to allow the deadbolt to slide and lock freely. I’ll try to use a thinner weatherstrip mat’l soon. The codes were easy to program within the app and worked flawlessly (love that you can hit wrong numbers before or after your actual code to fool would-be watchers. It’s easy to add/invite a user through the app (by email) and you can make them either an Admin. (with rights to add other users) or make them a Normal user, and you have the option of creating a passcode for them or they can create their own code and fingerprints. There’s also “temp. user(s)” available to be assigned for people you want to grant temporary access.I especially like there’s both Bluetooth and wifi. WiFi setup was easy. If WiFi doesn’t work for you at first, be sure to remove the 4 (AA) batteries and reinstall them. It worked perfect for me after this. You must also be sure to connect to your 2.4Ghz network, which may not be understood by everyone but is easy to do and most probably will without even knowing it.

We have owned this lock for 1 year. (I wrote this review at 2 months, but we still love the lock, and even bought the cheaper code only version for the back door, since we could share the wifi bridge with multiple locks.)Ok, first of all, installation was a breeze. We were replacing a manual deadbolt, and I’m not even sure we looked at the directions – everything went together without a hitch!Setup was pretty easy too, though if you set it up from the lock itself, and then you want to use the app, you’ll have to reset the lock and start over. But even with setting up, resetting and doing it again from the app, we were up and running in about 30 minutes. The lock detects my and my wife’s fingerprints just fine. My mom, who is 92, not so much. We assumed her complaints about not being able to grip with her finger tips any more was a grip strength issue, not a friction issue, but maybe not – this lock just does not recognize her fingerprints. It allows her to save them, but when she goes to open the door, it rejects her every time. But as she doesn’t go out on her own any more, and her code works fine, so it’s not a big deal. The fingerprint is more so we can get in quickly if there is an issue, without having to have her key in hand, so it is fine for us.The app is good, and simple to use. Sometimes it doesn’t connect on the first try, but it’s like it times out too early, as the second try is always successful. There are indicators in the app as to what method it is using to connect, which is good to see what it’s trying to do.It’s very simple to add a user to the lock, and I like that you can choose for each user if they have a code, a fingerprint, or the app, or any combination. Each user is allowed two fingerprints. (I saw another user saying “only two?” but for me, based on height and doorjamb, I really ever only use my thumbs to open the lock, and 95% my left thumb. It’s too awkward otherwise.) You can also disable a user without deleting that user. We have a code that is shared with the neighbors if we go out of town, but when we are in town, we disable that user. A user can also have scheduled times or days when it works; for example, you could allow a health worker access between 9 and 12 every weekday, but nothing else outside of those hours and days. You can set up a temporary code for say a repair person, that expires after one use. I’ve never seen quite so many options on a lock! The only “connected” service I’ve tried this with is IFTTT, and I’m disappointed in that. I have motion sensors set up in the house to “see” if my Mom is moving around (in a non-invasive way) and the triggers feed a spreadsheet. I’d like the lock to do the same thing, and IFTTT is set up correctly to do so as it works occasionally. Maybe 1 in 10, but that’s generous. I know that it *should* work, because the text notification I get seems to work 100% of the time. So I don’t really have a theory as to why the other fails – both are internet based – if one works the other should. To respond to a few other reviews I saw: It’s never given me a “lock jammed” warning. It’s never lost its memory on “handing” – whether the lock is installed left side or right side. I don’t use the “automatic unlock” feature. We purchased this lock to give us anytime access to the house without having to find the key, and to allow outside access to the house if necessary – she wears a medical alert device, and now the responders can get in if needed. So everything else is fluff, and we are very happy with this lock!

Installation of the lock was relatively easy until the end. The strike plate needs to be near perfect or the bolt gets stuck. I ended up putting my previous strike plate ( which has 1/8″ around the bolt ) back on and it works fine now. It would have been nice to know that the door closed sensor will not work when you have a steel clad door. The option to open the door when the batteries are dead with usb is weird in that it uses micro usb. Who still uses that as opposed to usb C? There is not much in the way of directions for the app but it works well. A helpful addition would be a simple app for an android watch to lock and unlock. Overall the lock is working well now. Permanent Codes, temporary and timed all seem fairly easy to set up. It reads my fingerprint, although we have not tried my wife’s as hers does not work on any devices.

We had multiple Smart locks from another well-known brand and they were just wearing out. We wanted one that offered wifi and biometrics. This lock had good reviews so we bought one to try. after a couple days, we bought two more. One of the locks had an intermittent issue with the deadbolt not engaging fully. This was a mechanical issue with just the cylinder outside of the door (no electronics). We called Utraloq and they are sending a new deadbolt cylinder. The app is great. The combination of options to lock and unlock are great. The only issue I have with the lock itself is that it has to be installed and aligned perfectly. It is very sensitive to position. I love that I can ask Alexa for the lock status and lock the doors.Update, we had a failure of one of the locks. the deadbolt started sticking. This was a mechanical issue with the lock. We called and reported the issue and they sent out a replacement part. This solved the issue. I have really enjoyed the lock and the customer service was exceptional.

Great! I bought 5 of these locks. The first 3 never worked 100% as they took forever for the app to connect but it worked somewhat. But the last 2 locks, I have no idea what happened to the quality. Takes up to 30 seconds to connect to the app to finally unlock form the phone and the fingerprint sensor keeps showing error no matter what angle i put my finger at. AND… the lock seems to have broke physically, it is literally jamming 80% of thee way and won’t lock fully. For $200+ I expected a bit better than this.EDIT:Customer service is great. They sent a new lock and the issue is resolved
